SolVe Mount Installation Timelapse
SolVe Mount
Sealed by expansion. Simply tighten a nut and it creates a perfect IPx8 rated seal every time - without putting downward pressure on the roof covering.
No removing or grinding tiles, flashing, rubber mats or sealant required. Compatible with existing rails.
Age testing (ASTM D395 test method b)
Tested at 175 oC for 22 hours under pressure (squashed to 25% of its size) - equivalent to 40 years at 25 degrees.
Results:
20% compression set after test. The seal is only at risk of leaking after 30%+ compression set. This would take 172 years according to the test method used at the European average temperature (15 degrees).
IPx8 testing (Water ingress).
Test method - SolVe Mount fixed into the test rig (small slate roof). A watertight tube fixed around the SolVe Mount. The tube is then filled with water - 1.5m high.
After 1 hour an item is considered IPx8 rated - the same watertightness as solar panels.
We left the Solve Mount for a month. No leaks.

Benefits for Installers
Speed - 30 slate roof mounts installed in 45 minutes. No removing slates or tiles needed. (Surprise coming when we launch).
Quality - Age testing shows that the seal will last 172+ years, combined with marine grade 316 stainless steel for peace of mind.
Easy installation - Simple repeatable process. No pre training required.
No call backs - No flashing or sealant required. One foolproof motion seals the membrane and roof covering perfectly every time by tightening a nut.
Fit & Forget - 20 year parts & labour warranty.
Strength & Versatility - Pull out force exceeds 1000kg per mount making them suitable for high wind load areas.
Reduced weight - One box of 20 SolVe mounts weighs 3.5kg - safer to carry up a ladder.
Easy on-roof installation - SolVe Mounts are small enough to fit in your pockets.
Minimal storage space - a box of 20 mounts is small enough to fit in your glovebox.

Patented Seal
The SolVe Mount features a unique expansion seal, eliminating the need for mastic or sealant while ensuring a perfect IPx8-rated seal, every time.
This advanced sealing method prevents water ingress whilst avoiding downward pressure on the roof covering and allowing the bolt to move/vibrate in high winds.

Frequently Asked Questions
What types of roofs are compatible with SolVe Mount?
SolVe Mount is compatible with a variety of roof types, including slate roofs, concrete tiles, interlocking tiles, plain tiles and roofs with spray foam insulation, metal roof coverings.
It is not yet recommended for double Roman/non flat tiles if the SolVe Cap can't deform the seal without touching the roof covering.
How long will the SolVe seal last?
Age testing states 172 years before 30% compression set is reached, it is then we'd recommend the seal be replaced.
Warranty 20 years.
Can I use sealant with the SolVe mount for an extra layer of protection?
Please do not add sealant before installing the mount as sealant will degrade over time and will not stand up to years of vibrations.
You can add sealant after if you wish, our seal is inert so will not be negatively affected.
The SolVe Mount seals the bottom of the tile first to create the first seal, expands outwards filling the depth of the roof covering to create the primary seal, and finally expands outwards above to fill the cap, creating a third seal.
Sealant would create a temporary 4th seal so would be unnecessary.
How long does it take to install each mount?
Each SolVe Mount can be installed in less than 90 seconds, making it one of the fastest solar roof mounting solutions available.
Surprise coming when we launch - join the waiting list to find out first.
Compared to a slate roof using slate flashing:
20 roof hooks + flashing installation time: 20 x 15 minutes = 5 hours.
20 x SolVe mounts: 20 x 1.5 minute = 30 minutes.
Saving 4 hours 30 minutes.
Larger installations could save days of labour and reduce the complexity considerably with our foolproof and repeatable installation process.
Is any sealant or mastic required for installation?
No
Can the mount withstand high winds?
Yes, the design allows the mount to handle high winds and installation stresses by transferring the load directly to the rafter whilst allowing for movement/vibration from the bolt.
What happens when the rafters aren’t straight?
Once you have drilled your diamond cut hole, feel inside to find out how central you are, mark the next drill position for the row above, typically 75-90cm higher depending on your layout.
By feeling the rafter location and marking the rafter in sequence, it shouldn't matter if the rafter isn't straight as you'll be making adjustments every 75-90cm.
What happens when the rafter is missed and there is a hole left in the slate?
Use our SolVe Fix to seal the hole and try again.
Our SolVe Fix seals in exactly the same way as the Mount just without the rafter bolt.
A brilliant little invention!
Can you stand on the rails during installation and not damage the tiles underneath.
Yes. Standing on the rails would not put any load onto the roof covering.
For health and safety reasons we cannot recommend standing on the rails, especially the black ones...but if you did you wouldn't crush the tile or slate bellow the fixing.
Load is transferred through the bolt directly into the rafter. The seal allows the bolt to move without passing any load onto the roof covering.
